Legal Secretary Transfers Century City Cape Town
A well-established law firm in Century City Cape Town is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary – Transfers to join its conveyancing team.
Salary: Market-related
Requirements:
- Matric
- Relevant legal secretarial qualification advantageous
- 3–5 years’ experience in a transfers role within a conveyancing department
- Sound knowledge of the property transfer process
- Experience with conveyancing software
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
Duties:
- Opening and managing transfer files
- Drafting transfer documents and correspondence
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, municipalities, bond attorneys, cancellation attorneys, and the Deeds Office
- Obtaining rates clearances, levy clearances, and transfer duty receipts
- Following up on FICA and compliance documents
- Arranging signing appointments
- Providing regular progress updates
- Assisting with billing, post-registration processes, and file closure
