Job Description

Head of Human Resources Cape Town

 

Our client seeks a Seasoned Head of Human Capital with 10+ years’ progressive HR experience (including 4+ years at head‑of‑function level) in manufacturing or pharmaceutical sectors. Proven in organisational design, workforce planning, talent mapping, career pathing and employee engagement. Experienced in multi‑jurisdiction labour relations/compliance, payroll and HRIS implementation, people analytics and HR operations optimisation.

 

Salary: Market Related CTC

 

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/HR Management (or related field); Master’s degree preferred

Diploma/qualification in Business Management or Leadership advantageous

10+ years of progressive Human Capital/HR generalist experience, including at least 4 years in a senior head-of-function role (e.g., Head of Human Capital/HR Director)

Proven experience in the manufacturing or pharmaceutical sector (essential)

Strong track record in organisational development, HR/people project delivery, workforce planning, talent mapping, career pathing, and employee engagement

Demonstrated expertise in labour relations and compliance across local and multi-country contexts, including policy development and dispute resolution

Hands-on experience with payroll management, HRIS selection/scoping and implementation, people analytics, and operational process optimisation

 

Key duties:

Set and execute the people strategy aligned to business goals

Lead workforce planning and talent mapping for current and future needs

Design and optimise organisational structures

Own employee relations and ensure regulatory compliance

Drive HR operations excellence and optimise HR systems/HRIS

Lead performance management, career pathing and retention initiatives

Champion employee experience, engagement and the EVP

Oversee governance, budgeting and people risk management

Develop leadership capability and manager effectiveness
