Credit Analyst Cape Town

Our wholesale / FMCG / Retail client in Cape Town is looking for a credit analyst to identify, measure, mitigating, and monitoring credit risk to ensure that the credit quality remains within acceptable limits. Conduct detailed credit risk analysis for potential and existing clients.

Salary Negotiable – Hybrid role 

Min Requirement

Matric with relevant credit/financial Diploma/Degree

3-5 years post-qualification experience in wholesale credit risk management, corporate or investment banking, or a similar field.

Practical knowledge of Credit Risk Management in the financial services industry.

Solid experience in working with and interpreting financial information to assess credit risk

Knowledge of Private Sector (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and Public Sector Financial Reporting (e.g., GRAP, IAS, IFRS, King IV, MFMA, PFMA), cost accounting, financial analysis, and auditing.

Practical knowledge of commercial legal agreements for debt and debt-like structures, including ongoing monitoring of covenants, collateral, and breach monitoring.

Main Responsibilities

Conduct detailed credit risk analysis for potential and existing clients.

Evaluate clients’ financial backgrounds, ongoing ability to repay, and adherence to lending conditions.

Monitor and manage credit quality, ensuring compliance with lending conditions and mitigating potential risks.

Develop and maintain comprehensive credit reports, incorporating recommendations and credit mitigations.
