Financial Administrator Pinelands Cape Town


Well-established retail client in Pinelands Cape Town has an opportunity for a Financial Administrator / Bookkeeper to act as financial recordkeeper/ financial administration working on Sage Evolution/ PASTEL. You need the ability to assist in talking the books to trial balance. Recons of sales and expenses of retail stores in South Africa. Have extensive experience in Recons.

Minimum requirements:

Matric plus Bookkeeping / Accounting qualification

Financial Admin / Bookkeeper experience of 3-5 years

Recons experience essentials – Retail experience a bonus

Full Bookkeeping processing to Trial Balance of Sage evolutions or Pastel

Intermediate Excel skills

Statutory Submission and return experience

VAT calculation, submission and returns

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Assist in Processing Books to Trial Balance – report to Senior Bookkeeper / Financial Manager

Process and allocate cashbook transactions for retail

Assisting retail stores with bank related enquires i.e., confirmation of credit card payments, card machine upgrades and settlement reports

Reconcile sales store control accounts to credit card, cash and EFTs receipts i.e., cash to sales recon

Follow up and resolve discrepancies on the sales store control accounts

Ensure banking of store cash is done timeously.

Ensure that cash-up documents are received timeously for all stores.

Recording and allocation of store petty cash payments.

Updating the fixed asset register.

Confirmation of electronic transfers to stores

Loading Expenses and customer refunds on online banking

Review monthly debtors’ aging list
