Financial Accountant Kenilworth Cape Town

Our commercial client in Kenilworth Cape Town is looking for a Financial Accountant with SAIPA / SAICA or AGA(SA). You need to have experience with General Ledger, Financial Controls, and financial reporting.

Min Requirements

SAIPA / SAICA or AGA(SA) Qualified Professional Accountant

3 years experience which includes articles period

Post qualification an added bonus

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

General Ledger Management:

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.

Review and post supplier invoices and journal entries.

Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.

Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Preparing and capturing of monthly payment schedules for franchisees

Be available for queries, if there are any from franchisees.

Preparing weekly/monthly bank payments

Financial Controls and Processes:

Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Identify process improvements to enhance financial reporting.

Support the implementation of new accounting software or systems.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Assist in the preparation of management reports, budget variance analysis, and financial forecasts.

Assist in the preparation of Board meetings and minutes.

Taxation and Compliance:

Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local tax laws and regulations (VAT & EMP).

Monitor tax payments and ensure compliance to avoid penalties and fines.

Ensure statutory records are maintained and the necessary returns are filed with CIPC to ensure compliance.

Assist in coordinating audits and providing necessary documentation to auditors.
